Secrets

A good Rain knows the secrets
grounded into pavement
by gossiping heels that
break their owners trust.
Rain uses ancient skills
to coax cement to open
its closed lips and whisper,
ever so hesitantly, the
boundless knowledge stored up
inside. A good Rain has learned
not to question or judge
as his spiteful cousin Snow does.
Eternity has blessed Rain with
a patience envied by saints.
A good Rain knows the secrets
locked away in pavement.
