Lisa Weber

What is your favorite line from your featured piece in The Ginger Collect?

“They returned my gaze, and it was like their beaks were digging into me, pulling out the worms writhing and twisting around my soul.”

Who is your most beloved author?

Such an unfair question. I love so many. But Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, and Anne Rice were some of my first loves.

Do you have a favorite quote from this author?

Stephen King said “Writing is magic, as much the water of life as any other creative art.”

Writing is magic. And it is water to my soul. Without it, I would succumb to a torturous thirst. Or drink too much watered-down beer, which wouldn’t be much better.

What inspired your piece?

I saw a documentary about crows which highlighted not only their intelligence, but also their ability to remember human faces, and hold grudges. Nevermore will I chase the crows from my yard.
